Dear Tattered Angel,
I have included a photo of the Spica Chair your mother and I built to donate to Shriner's Hospital in hopes of paying forward a little of the service, kindness, and love we have been so blessed to receive from so many friends, neighbors and strangers. Advice, concerns, and prayers have been extended from all over the world from almost every country imaginable: Argentina, England,Australia, Jordon, Czech Rep., Ireland, Germany, New Zealand, France, Finland, Taiwan, Japan, Singapore, Canada, Morocco, South Africa and many other countries have read this blog and shared in your journey. Each of these parents are linked to us by our unique bond of caring for and raising a child with Developmental Dysplasia of the Hips. Even though we have never met, each of us understand the emotions, fears, and heart wrenching decisions all of us have wadded through as we watch our extremely young children face such tremendous adversity at a young age. Many parents have feelings of being robbed of time spent admiring a perfect child as dreams of cuddling their new born child close is replaced by harnesses, braces, and large heavy casts. Designer outfits to dress up your toddler are no longer a choice for our children. Our lives our joined by our ability to immediately understand how our families, in spite of our different nationalities each share this same journey. Once the accent of our voices is silenced, the color of our skin has become invisible, our faiths united, all that remains is this common thread of love every parent has for their child and we once again realize we are not so different after all.

What a wonderful idea! They will love it. I wish everyone could not judge people because of diferences! Well said!
Two thumbs up
My baby just sat in this chair today. Thanks for donating it to Shriner's--my husband will be building one shortly! Your blog offers so much hope and encouragement for those of us just starting the journey. Good luck with your little angel!
